⛩ Yoichi Nagumo embodies the smiling shadow in Sakamoto Days. A prominent member of The Order, he moves with the lightness of a witty remark and the precision of a deadly metronome. His reputation as a master of disguise is not a simple narrative flourish : it is the science of the useful lie, a choreography of infiltration and anticipation that allows him to be everywhere and nowhere at once. He is recognised by his detached charisma, his lines that disarm as much as they conceal, and by his tactical intelligence that grasps the structure of a conflict before the hostilities even begin.

What distinguishes Nagumo is the duality at the core of his personality. On one side, an exceptional assassin, trained to read fear, the rhythm of a room, the flaw within a plan. On the other, a man who chooses irony to keep the weight of his missions at bay and to protect his allies. He does not simply slip around traps : he reshapes them, redraws the chessboard and invites his opponent to play a match already lost. This lucidity is paired with a rare ability to manage appearances and to disarm the enemy by blurring intentions. With him, nonchalance is not an act : it is a tool that lowers the guard of others at the precise moment he needs to strike.
